History

Knapton Generating Station was producing electricity using gas from the Vale of Pickering for over 25 years.

Third Energy’s assets in North Yorkshire are 100% owned and operated by Third Energy, and include many miles of subterranean pipelines.

During our 25 years of stewardship the operations, drilling, and well works have been managed safely and with no adverse impact to the environment or communities. We are committed to maintaining the same focus for future operations.

Third Energy is now focused on renewable energy generation including geothermal and local energy efficiencies such as solar PV arrays.
